Frank Falenczyk loves his job. He just happens to be the hit-man for his Polish mob family in Buffalo, New York. But Frank's got a drinking problem and when he messes up a critical assignment that puts the family business in peril, his uncle sends him to San Francisco to clean up his act. Frank is not a touchy-feely kind of guy, but he starts going to AA meetings, gets a sponsor and a job at a mortuary where he falls for the tart-tongued Laurel, a woman who is dangerously devoid of boundaries. Meanwhile, things aren't going well in Buffalo where an upstart Irish gang is threatening the family business. When violence erupts, Frank is forced to return home and with an unlikely assist from Laurel, faces old rivals on new terms. from IMDB).

Kingsley's character: Frank

Sir Ben was nominated for the Satellite Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, in 2007.

I really want to see this film. I saw the trailer on the Internet and I thought it looked funny. But here it was only on in one cinema, on the otherside of town... So I thought, hey, I'll wait 'till it comes out on DVD. The other week, I was in the loca shopping mall and I saw the poster in the DVD Rental shop, which means it was out for rental. Problem is, I don't have a membership there... Crying or Very sad

I hope you get to see it soon. It is good, and as you have guessed, quite amusing in parts. You will like it.

Surely this must be available to buy on DVD now in France... It was ages ago I saw it in the rental shop, but no matter where I look I can't find it! Crying or Very sad

I'm not a big fan of the modern comedies, but I really enjoyed watching this one. Especially that Sir Ben plays a Pole, so I felt nationally connected with the main character. Wink
As far as I can remember, I downloaded it from somewhere... Twisted Evil

Yes, I also bought it earlier in the week, and I watched it last night. I thought was quite good. It was fun when he was stripped down to his underwear - and not very sexy underwear at that lol - in that guy's office and then threatened him with a gun. I also thought it was quite romantic how Tea came to Buffalo in the end and found him at that other AA meeting. I love you

I bought this one on DVD on the offchance because I like Ben's films. The first time around I thought"it's OK, just OK". Then the second time I liked it more.
