A few nights ago, with some family members, we watched The Pianist, which they had never seen before. At the end, one of them said "oh, Roman Polanski. Well, I should have known!"... I don't quite know what they meant by that. I think his films are good. There's a lot of effort that goes into them. There are too many directors nowadays who go in for the special effects over the story line side, where as Roman pays a lot of attention ... If I had to make a list of my favourites, I think I would choose: James Nesbitt. Robert Hardy. Whoopi Goldberg. Daniel Day Lewis. Orlando Bloom. Rupert Grint. Eli Wallach. Jennifer Aniston. Kate Winslet. I have to admit that I tend to latch on to male actors more easily than female ones, and of course, my list is probably longer than this one if I really put my mind to it. So, now we can expect this film to be shown worldwide. I think that's nice, because the French have been making some very good films recently!
