I've read in many places that BK is a very overrated actor. Some people think that it's the whole "gandhi" and "schinlder's list" thing that have started it. By that, they mean to say that because he has been in some very good and ground-breaking films, he is often overrated and his talents exaggerated. Other people think that the amount of films he makes adds to the whole problem. For example, there is a forum (I think it's a forum), called something like "the home of the astoundingly overrated" ...

Is it me or has Sir Ben's skin gone paler over the years? In the older pictures he has an Indian skin-tone, whereas now it doesn't seem visible at all... Is it because he no longer has hair do you think? I mean, I don't think he's done it the Michael Jackson way, but, well, he seems whiter than before.

I was reading an article today that announced that Sir Ben is to play the part of an admiral of the 14-18 war in a new drama called "Jutland 1916". The drama is based on Peter Hart's historical novel which charters one of the most famous battles in History, and one of the most important ones of WWI, as Germany and Great Britain fought for control of the North Sea. Even though the Germans retreated, Historians are still debating over which side actually triumphed in the battle.

I find it really annoying to read that people don't think BK should be addressed as "Sir Ben Kingsley". I mean, if he's been awarded it, it's because he's earned it. I don't know whether or not it's true that he "demanded" to be addressed as Sir on the set of "Oliver Twist". From what I've seen of him, I actually find it hard to believe, and if he did request it then I think the circumstances were quite different from a direct "demand". And then there ...

I became a fan after seeing Ben's portrayal of Fagin, in Polanski's version of Oliver Twist (hence my avatar pic and the forum logo ). I was just so immersed in the whole character - the body language, the quirky voice... I mean, it was like I'd been transported into the backstreets of 19th century London, and I had NEVER been touched by such character acting before. Since then, I've watched mainly his bigger movies, such as Sexy Beast, Gandhi, and Schindler's List (which I had already seen), ...

I was wondering what you all thought of Sir Ben's part in the New Seven Wonders of The World Gala in Lisbon last year, or even of the ceremony itself. Personally I didn't think he did a good job of a presenter, as for example, he at one point held the microphone for one of his fellow presenters as they opened an enveloppe and he actually said "I'll hold your mic", and it just sounded so weird to actually say it. As for the ceremony, I really don't know what it hoped to achieve, because ...

Have you noticed that since he's founded his new and personal production company called SBK Productions, he's doing a lot of Bollywood stuff? Going back to his Indian roots sort of thing? I'm not sure what I think of this move. Don't misunderstand me, I have nothing against Indians or his going back to his roots, but I just don't know what I make of it all. Bollywood is a growing cinema now, isn't it, and some of their films are very good. Is it a good move of his, to be sort of an "ambassador" ...

Very recently I've become very interested in India and Indian cuisine. What I don't know, is whether or not it is becase of my interest in Sir Ben who is of Indian descent. For instance, I've always been interested in foreign cultures, but recently it has become more and more so, and as for the food, I never used to like it all that much. I suppose it could be that my tastes are just evolving though.

I'd read many time about SBKs different wives. His first one was Angela Morant (1966-1976) and I remained completely ignorant of who she was until a couple of weeks ago when I saw her picture on the Internet. And then I realised that I'd seen her in Inspector Morse. I mean, it's no big deal, but I just thought "Oh yeah! I know who you are now!", you know...
